As usual late for another Monday read 😜 that's what happens when you retire and find "work" at something you love doing... and as the youngest put it a few years ago "I get paid to ski!"... and."Dad is growing up to be like me". 😊⛷
"Career Choices" — um, this seems completely serious, if the career counseler is any good. 😉
"A Day In The Life (Of A Dog)" — the verses are cute (as usual) but I got something out of your footnote at the end that I never knew!
"The Honu 100" — I like the story (especially paragraph 4) but it reminded me of the popular sport of Submarine Races at the Naval Academy. Midshipmen would take their date to one of the benches overlooking the Severn River or Chesapeake Bay, get comfortable snuggled against the wind (could usually count on a breeze coming off the bay), and then, ah, kill time until the submarine races started. Or finished, because who knew? Best yet, the visibility was just as good at night as during daylight. 😁
Mark, I can attest to the probability of the Honu 100. For years we vacationed in Waikiki. Every afternoon at 4pm, a sea turtle (we named Tony) swam through the lagoon by our hotel. He spent a half hour swimming amongst and socializing with the bathers before moving on to parts unknown. I have a close-up photo of his head out of the water and winking.
The beach has changed in the last few years and the pandemic altered tourist habits, so I don't know what happened to Tony. We didn't see him last summer.
Career Choices - Hahaha!
A Day In The Life (Of A Dog) - Being a dog must be so much fun.
The Honu 100 - Congratulations Malie!
Dogs have it pretty good.
Raise a Starburst to Malie!

Better than sitting in a chair watching reruns! Retirement should be play time!

Probably the most honest career counselor ever. 🤣
Yeah, that song was quite a production. Only The Beatles could have gotten away with that.
Submarine races were popular in my neck of woods also. But we had lakes instead of oceans.
Ha! Mark, this was brilliant! I now want to go rescue the pup from the doggie pound. Keep writing your song parodies; they're fantastic.
Keep on making our morning's fun, Monday Morning Mark!
Thank you Jenise. I hope you don't have a nice backyard lawn. 🤣
We don't. We have gravel and a natural hillside.
Good to go then. 🐶
Your song parodies are the best! And the Honu 100 gave me a good laugh, especially the dream at the end. That darn hare! 🤣
Crazy dream! Thanks, Justin. 🤓
We hadn't been back for an astounding ten years until last summer. Don't know why. Went every year before that. Kahuai was amazing.
But Waikiki has changed a lot. I got kicked out of a beach bar for wearing shorts. Guess my cravat and spats weren't dressy enough.
I need to go!
Yes you do.

Awesome. I believe Tony won the Honu 100 back in '54.
My wife and I were going to go to Hawaii for my 60th birthday in the summer of 2020. Yeah, that didn't happen. Maybe some day. 🤓
Same Tony.
The song parody was hilarious. The recap of the Hono 100 was a little too soon for me. (Lost bigly on Akoni.)
🤣 That's what you get for betting on the favorite!
Thanks, Jim.
