In the comments for the first Novel Covers newsletter, Cyn Taylor made a recommendation that I add Baron Britpop Blastfurnace Book 2 to the cover of the Elise Boissonneau novel. I had been thinking the same thing, but I thought it would be hard to fit the extra words. It was, but I did manage to do it. Here is what I came up with.
It is a little crowded, but I think it looks alright. I will probably tweak the word size and spacing a little.
Then I got the idea to add a banner at the top with Baron Britpop Blastfurnace Book 2.
I scaled and moved the cover image down so I wouldn’t cut off the top of the curled paper. Of course, I will be shifting things slightly to account for cover bleed and trim in the final cover, but this is a rough idea of what it will look like.
I would do a banner for Book 3 also.
I obviously haven’t started on the back of the novel yet. It will contain the book description. Probably in a semi-opaque box for legibility.
Which do you prefer?
