I haven’t written a new Elise Boissonneau chapter in almost a week. Not because of my advanced procrastination skills—which are still intact. But because the outline has been going through some twists and turns. As it usually tends to do when I write.
I initially thought about having Delmore Boissonneau (Elise’s father and shipping business owner) recognize Britpop at the Palace of Versailles and call him a pirate in front of the King. But that would have taken some strange maneuvering to make that happen.
Then I planned to have Delmore visit Kapri and recognize Britpop there. This was feasible, but it would have delayed the timeline considerably, as Elise would have to write him, and then he would have to travel to Kapri.
Yesterday, I decided to have Grand Duke Goatbeard visit France on business and have Elise accompany him. Plus, have Britpop, Andelbert, and Maria join them on a reunion trip to The Palace of Versailles (which Britpop invites Elise to.)
Having them visit Versailles was always part of the plan. This combines two plot items and gives everyone a good reason to go to France (Elise and Goatbeard on Business, Britpop following Elise and trying to court her, and Andelbert and Maria visiting Maria’s home.) Plus, gives Goatbeard a little more of a role.
Delmore Boissonneau will recognize Britpop upon their arrival in port. This will spark an encounter with Grand Duke Goatbeard. Goatbeard will try to convince Delmore Boissonneau that Britpop is not really a pirate and share his business intentions for Britpop and Elise.
I have also been doing some flip-flopping about the Captain Peanut Butter storyline. But it is too confusing to share at the moment. LOL!
I have a couple of new chapters outlined. I will be writing them soon.
Thanks, Matey.
