I gleefully agree about adverbs.

Strunk and White, from my experience, is one of those books everyone has holding up bookends, but few have actually read. And I'm a fan of ol' E.B.

I think you are right. Just a reference book everyone gets but rarely cracks open.

Oh well. I did put out the $$ to buy the book and found it helpful. Mostly because I just love to read. I, also, am not a person of style. I write what I like.

OMG, I had forgotten all about Strunk and White. Well, too late now! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

King doesn’t like adverbs? (I’ve read one book of his, back in the 1980s. Apparently didn’t leave a big impression.)

Stephen King is well-documented to hate adverbs (but you know how writers blow everything out of proportion. 🤣 I suspect it is their overuse and misuse he hates.) And I suspect if you go through his books, you will find a few eventually.

At the risk of mockery, ridicule, and contempt, I will admit that I have never read a single Stephen King book. Although I have seen several movies based on his books.
