The third one isn't available in book form yet. But it is on my Substack.

First found you on Medium and followed the Baron from the start. Then that platform went silly... I got banned from commenting but could never get an answer as to why. Installed Substack but didn't get into using it very much until recently so I missed volume 2 and now you have the trilogy 😱. Got me some reading to do!!!

Yup, Medium went downhill fast at the end of 2019. I stuck around until I found Substack. I still have a Medium account, but it is free, and I use it primarily as an additional backup for the stories I've written there.

I remember all the way back to the silent horseshoes and the ankle grabbing vine! This has been quite an adventure, and I have stuck with it all the way. I, for, one, like the serial format. (I published my own story serially on Substack). Thanks, Mark, for this great history of your literary project! I bought the first two books and passed them on to my 14-year-old nephew for his comments!

Thank you, Sharron. I always looked forward to your comments. I appreciate you reading it. 🤓

I think some people shy away from serials because they want the whole story at once. But I bet most of them watch television shows that are episodic.

I have been burned by abandoned serials in the past, so there is that fear also. But I like them. I enjoyed reading Bartle Clunes, although I think it was already complete when I started.

I've read most of the stories in the series and I think its appropriate for older kids. I need to reread the entire thing!

Suitable for kids of all ages. Even old kids like me. 🤓

Thank you for reading, Kim!

I have not been following your serial efforts, Mark, sorry! I’m not a serial fan — if I get caught up in the story I want to keep going. And yes, Deb & I *do* like to binge TV shows! 😁

I am looking forward to Book 3 of the trilogy, because I want to gift the books to our grandniece, who is starting 5th grade this year. She doesn’t read (nor do her parents, much to the chagrin of her grandmother and great aunt) so I want to get her caught up with Elise’s story. And then have two other books in the same universe. While your books are not “kids’ books” they have a joy and sense of fun that kids should like.

Thanks, Jack. I will try to get that done soon. David had the great idea to collect them all in one volume. I may do that also, since they are relatively short.

And now that the whole story is complete, it is no longer a serial. It is binge-ready. 🤓

It's the crazy, delightful names of the characters that got me.

Do you eventually plan on publishing an omnibus of the three novels? That seems like the logical next step.

Also, do you mind if I employ the Tibetan Ankle-Grabbing Death Vine in my future writing? Although for my usages they would have to be pluralized, and in some cases "Ankle" would give way to "Paw"...

That is a great idea, David. Thanks.

You are welcome to use the vine in your story. 🤓
