I don’t consider myself a singer, but I am about to release my second vocal song. Because, why not?
I started writing songs in my teens. They were mostly awful, but I kept at it, and I think I can write a good one occasionally.
My first songwriting efforts were instrumentals. I tried singing in my teens, and it was not good. So I gave up on singing (I wish I had kept at it. That’s another story.) But I wrote vocal tunes anyway.
This song is one I wrote in my early twenties. It just lived on paper and cassette tape for forty years.
About a year ago, I started using DistroKid. Which is a music distribution service. Musicians no longer need record contracts or publishers to put out music. They can do it on their own.
For about $25 per year, I can release as much music as I want through DistroKid. They put it on all the music services, like Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and dozens of others. It is a huge game-changer for musicians like me. Before, it would have been almost impossible to release music on my own. Except on CD. Which are expensive to make and hard to sell. But now, it’s easy and inexpensive to get on streaming services, YouTube, and digital stores like iTunes and Amazon.
Anyway, part of the process of releasing music is to upload a cover image. I typically use a royalty-free stock image from Unsplash or Pexels. Then, I just have to add the title and my name.
But picking the cover image is always the most challenging part for me. So I am asking for your advice. Which of the following covers do you like best?
Before you choose, listen to the song. See if any of the covers seem to fit. (I just mixed it before I wrote this so you are the first to hear this rough mix )

Thanks.

I'd say #1, the care free days of young romance are evoked with this image.
I'm even later to the party...I like #4 the best. The photo implies the intent of the song. Btw...thanks for the info on DistroKid. I'm definitely going to make use of that resource.
