“I think that is enough thankfulness for now. Shall we go for a walk?” ha ha ha

Great stuff, Mark!

Most of what I know of Franklin was gleaned from many readings of the Robert Lawson classic, 'Ben and Me.'

This all rings true and promises much more to the story.

Thanks, John. Franklin had a fascinating and complicated life. A true “Renaissance Man.” Inventor, publisher, store owner, statesman, etc. As usual I have taken liberties with the historical timeline and his character, but I am writing fiction with a pinch of history added, not “historical fiction.” 🤣 The recent Franklin series on Apple TV was pretty good.

By the way, I let my Medium subscription expire so I can’t read your stories until you start your own Substack. 🤓

Well, something must be done about that.

I'll do what needs doing.

You can simply start posting your old Medium stories on Substack and give them a new audience. There is no reason not to. Only a handful of my Medium readers followed me over to Substack. The rest are new readers. Jack Herlocker occasionally remembers a story I had posted on Medium but he seems to enjoy reading them again.
