Thanks, James. There is a very good possibility that I made that up. But I will leave it to history to decide. 😉🤣

What an exciting journey these guys are on. I’m really enjoying the story! Maybe for the next installment they’ll eat some grilled cheese sandwiches in a hot air balloon? 😄

Thanks for the fun stories, Mark.

"Maybe for the next installment they’ll eat some grilled cheese sandwiches in a hot air balloon?" 🤣🤣🤣

Why didn't I think of that!

I'm glad you are enjoying it.

Ben was before his time with the grilled cheese (BTW after 35 years I can enjoy a grilled vegan cheese sandwich - cheese and a pile of foods and additives started giving me migraines 😱😊).

Parents used to live Northwest of Albuquerque, they went to see the balloons take off - when they got home all the balloons had landed in the pasture behind the house and their Alaskan Malumat had destroyed the extra large screen door, she didn't like the Pffft of the burners 😱

It's starting to look good for the boys... is there a dark cloud in their future? Ugh, gotta wait a whole week to find out 🤪❤️

Ben was definitely a visionary.

I can see how a dog might not care for the balloons.

Suspense is part of the fun. 😉

Thanks, Mud. If you get a chance, take the hot-air balloon ride!

"Float On By" sounds like a Bacharach/David tune recorded by Dionne Warwick...

That is exactly where I got the story title from. The song Walk On By. I borrow song titles for story titles quite a bit.

Deb took a hot-air balloon ride with her mom over two decades ago (right about the time she met me, but before we started dating) and loved it. Me, I'm scared of heights but love looking out a plane window, and I don't know how a balloon would feel to me. (FWIW, Dad stayed with the chase crew. He said it was to take pictures, but I suspect he felt the same way I did. 😁)

TR&TR P4 was interesting to me from the technical side. I didn't know what was involved in a song recording session beyond the occasional movie or behind-the-scenes video. I'm guessing you have been involved in music enough to have seen that side?

My wife and I took a hot air ballon ride in Albuquerque a few years ago. I loved it! It was one of my favorite experiences. Floating silently above the world was amazing. I also don't like heights. Actually it is drop-offs that I don't like. Like cliffs or high buildings. I am fine in an airplane or on top of a gradual hill that I know I won't plunge to my death from. I wasn't sure how I would react to the balloon ride. But the basket was chest high and there was not a lot of room to maneuver, so you would have really had to try to "fall out."

I did some studio recording in my 20s making demos with a songwriter friend. But I have read about Nashville's system of recording. Which is unique. They have their own "number system" of notation that they use to crank our songs quickly. The studio guys there are amazing.

L.A. used to be the primary city of music recording. The "Wrecking Crew" was a group of studio musicians in 50s and 60s that recorded the music for almost everyone. Glen Campbell got his start there as guitar player in the studios. Then they found out he could sing... There is a documentary about the "Wrecking Crew" that is interesting.

After about the 80s, a lot of recording and songwriting moved to Nashville.
