I love this line: "Isabella goes through men like sailors go through ale." And i loved it that isabella decided to stand aside for Ana and Jacques. He'd better hurry up with his pirating and fortune amassing before he loses a good woman. They are hard to find! ( Also, "As I lay in the Garcia's barn..." ) I like getting this story one chapter at a time.

Thanks, Sharron.

Lay / laid always gets me. Lay just doesn’t sound right to me in that sentence. Since he is talking about the past, laid seems to make more sense to me. 🤨 I guess that’s why I am not an English teacher. 🤣 To avoid cringing every time I look at "As I lay in the barn", I changed it to "As I sat in the barn." 🤓

The Captain did all his pirating in books one and two. Soon he will be sailing to the brand new United States with his fiancé.

You are not alone, my friend. Every one gets lie / lay confused, because they over lap! I was thinking of doing a post with a (light-hearted) lesson on that. Ha ha ha. I look forward to seeing the next installment.

It is a well-needed lesson. Especially for the great unwashed writers like me. 🤣
