Ah, wise words indeed! As the youngest of ten siblings, I never had to worry about looking like a wedge of cheese—it was my siblings who were the mice, always scurrying about in chaos. I chose a different path, staying close to my mother, becoming her shadow in the kitchen. While they wrestled and argued, I was learning the art of transforming simple ingredients into homemade magic.

So while I dodged the sibling stampede, I gained the gift of culinary wisdom and the quiet satisfaction of knowing I could create a feast while they bickered over the last crumb. Sometimes, staying away from the “mice” truly pays off!

Mark, your writing has a way of sparking heartfelt flashbacks, and for that, I sincerely thank you. I look forward to savoring more of your wonderful tales!

Oh man! This is the best advice ever. Seriously, thanks for the reminder. When my rowdy, noisy little boy was rough-housing with his friends, I would say, " I am having a bad day, boys, so I suggest that wherever I am, don't you be." They got the message and took their rumble jumble out doors. Where it was safe. Lesson learned.

"Go outside and play," was my Mother's most common phrase. 🤣

Thanks, Sharron.
