"The water adds twenty square feet." Good one. I thought the main character in Time for Me to Fly was a homeless person until the last line. What a surprise, but then, you are full of surprises, Mark. That's what I love about your writing. Keep 'em coming.
I'm glad you recycled Greencollar the Pigeon. That's a good one. I remembered it from before, so the twist didn't take me by surprise, but Greencollar's observations are still sweet. 💚
Thanks, Jack. Yeah, I plan to start reposting older stories since I have four year's worth now. Some of them are worth another read (in my opinion.) And most of my subscribers haven't read them.

Yes, I wanted readers to assume it was a person and slowly reveal that it was a pigeon.
Thanks, K.C.
“Time for Me to Fly” is a lovely story, Mark. I agree with what Sharron said above. The slow reveal was perfect.
Thanks, Justin. 🤓
Nice the way the photos match the imagery of your words!
Thanks, Kim. I often write the stories to fit the photos. It’s easier than finding the right image. 🤣

I have to say, the gray paint does make him look fat, water or no water. Maybe he should add some vertical stripes.
The opening line of Time For Me To Fly was inspired. Set us up beautifully. A clever little story.
Thanks, Sharron. I wanted to gradually reveal that it was pigeon thinking.
It was perfect, you left little clues along the way... like breadcrumbs.
Thank you. 😀
Yes, indeed. Without the binoculars. 🤓
