Francis knew he should get glasses. Harvey told him so every time it happened, but Francis was proud and vain. He refused to wear glasses. Instead, he wore contacts.
Yet every time they went to the shore, the saltwater mist in the air made his contacts burn, and he would rub his eyes until one of them fell out.
Naturally, being old, neither Harvey nor Francis could see well enough to find the missing contact.
Then, one day, Francis had a great idea. He hired a bunch of pigeons to do the looking for him. Pigeons are numerous and willing to work for old pieces of bread. Harvey had to admit, it was a stroke of pure genius.
